Mechanical Technician Eligibility:
Applicants should meet any one of the following educational qualifications and maintenance experience requirements:
- High School (10th or 12th) with a recognized vocational qualification and at least 4 years of maintenance experience.
- 2-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience.
- 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of maintenance experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience.
Candidates with previous experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, Fertilizer, or Industrial Plants will receive preference during the selection process.
Mechanical Technician Roles and Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will be responsible for performing maintenance activities on a wide range of rotating and static equipment commonly used in Oil & Gas facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overhaul, install, align, inspect, and maintain rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, mixers, fans, and mechanical seals.
- Perform preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities according to maintenance schedules.
- Repair and maintain static equipment including valves, pipelines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and associated mechanical components.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, mechanical layouts, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify replacement spare parts when required.
- Safely operate workshop machinery such as grinders, drilling machines, cutting tools, and power saws.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with plant safety standards, permit-to-work procedures, and quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report completed work to supervisors.
- Support shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities whenever required.
Skills Required:
Successful candidates should possess the following technical skills:
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance.
- Experience with pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, and mechanical seals.
