Job Position: Mechanical Technician:
The selected Mechanical Technician will be responsible for carrying out installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on a wide range of mechanical equipment. Candidates should have practical knowledge of industrial maintenance procedures and be comfortable working in demanding project environments.
Key Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, bearings, mechanical seals, couplings, and other rotating and static machinery.
Major responsibilities include:
- Carrying out installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment.
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment.
- Assisting with dismantling, inspection, repair, alignment, and reassembly of mechanical equipment.
- Performing bearing replacement, coupling alignment, seal replacement, lubrication, and equipment servicing.
- Identifying mechanical faults and completing necessary repairs according to established maintenance procedures.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical documents.
- Using measuring and testing tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and alignment tools.
- Supporting shutdown, turnaround, commissioning, and equipment maintenance activities.
- Following PTW, LOTO, JSA, toolbox talks, and applicable HSE procedures at the worksite.
The role requires technicians who can work safely and efficiently while maintaining equipment reliability and meeting project maintenance standards.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Applicants should have a minimum of 1–3 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Technician. Experience in Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, industrial, or shutdown projects will be preferred.
Candidates should hold a Diploma, ITI, or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Strong hands-on experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating and static equipment is essential.
Experience with pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, bearings, mechanical seals, and couplings will be highly beneficial. Candidates should also understand equipment alignment, preventive maintenance, and general mechanical repair practices.
The ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals is required. Applicants should also have a good understanding of Oil & Gas HSE requirements and safe working procedures.
A valid QID is required for this opportunity. Relevant Oil & Gas certifications and site approvals will be an added advantage. Immediate joiners are preferred, making this opportunity especially suitable for qualified candidates who are currently available in Qatar.
