The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical equipment within the ammonia plant.
Key duties include:
- Carrying out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, gearboxes, heat exchangers, and other rotating or static equipment.
- Performing equipment inspections, alignment, dismantling, overhaul, and reassembly.
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
- Participating in plant shutdowns, turnarounds, start-ups, and maintenance activities.
- Interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and equipment history.
- Ensuring strict compliance with HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, LOTO procedures, and plant safety standards.
- Working effectively with operations and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve plant reliability.
Candidate Requirements:
Applicants should have a minimum of 8 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience, particularly within an industrial or process plant environment.
Candidates with proven hands-on experience in an Ammonia Plant will be preferred. The educational requirement includes OND, HND, B.Eng., or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in maintaining rotating and static equipment are essential. Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or other process industries will be considered an advantage.
Candidates should also have a good understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Relevant HSE certifications and safety training will be an added advantage.
