Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Supervisor will play an important role in ensuring that mechanical equipment and facilities are maintained safely, efficiently, and according to approved maintenance procedures.
One of the key responsibilities will be to develop inspection and maintenance schedules and obtain the required approvals. The supervisor will ensure that these schedules are aligned with the annual maintenance plan and that activities are completed within established timelines while meeting HSE and quality standards.
The role will also involve supporting the development of the annual maintenance plan for mechanical equipment and facilities, particularly within offshore operations. The successful candidate will need to communicate approved operational procedures and work instructions clearly to subordinate personnel and monitor compliance.
Maintenance Planning and Team Leadership:
The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for planning daily work orders in coordination with the Assistant Head Offshore. This includes reviewing maintenance requirements, analysing the priority of activities, and ensuring that important jobs are completed efficiently.
Daily maintenance checks will need to be monitored closely, with prompt action taken when emergency callouts or urgent equipment-related issues occur. The supervisor will also coordinate with other departments to ensure that mechanical requirements are properly addressed.
A significant part of the position involves leading and developing the mechanical team. The supervisor will identify training requirements, establish job targets for personnel under direct supervision, and implement approved workflows. Effective leadership will be required to set individual objectives, evaluate employee performance, and support suitable training programmes designed to improve technical skills.
Equipment Integrity and HSE:
Equipment reliability and integrity are essential in oil and gas operations. The Mechanical Supervisor will analyse equipment threats and hazards and ensure that appropriate standard operating procedures are implemented.
The position requires close attention to the condition and integrity of mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will also work closely with corrosion monitoring and protection programmes while supervising inspection activities.
Ensuring that maintenance and inspection work is carried out according to established HSE and quality standards will be an important part of the role.
