About the Mechanical Technician Role:
The Mechanical Technician will work closely with mechanical engineers, supervisors, and other members of the execution team. The position involves planning and carrying out mechanical work, reviewing job documentation, identifying safety concerns, and ensuring that assigned work is completed according to the required standards.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
The selected Mechanical Technician will be responsible for a range of field and planning activities, including:
- Estimating the workload and establishing realistic completion dates for assigned work.
- Assisting mechanical engineers with the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
- Supporting work involving engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, and related mechanical systems.
- Helping prepare technical proposals and cost estimates when required.
- Actively participating in all applicable on-the-job safety tools and procedures.
- Reviewing job packs before starting assigned work.
- Identifying safety issues associated with the job and ensuring that risks are removed or properly mitigated before work begins.
- Executing mechanical work according to the approved plan and job requirements.
- Recording technical history and relevant equipment information as required by the workgroup.
- Providing feedback to the Execution FLS regarding possible improvements to job packs.
- Requesting the necessary permits before starting work.
- Informing the Supervisor if a required permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.
These responsibilities require a combination of hands-on mechanical skills, planning ability, safety awareness, and effective communication.
Skills and Qualifications:
Applicants should have an appropriate technical certification for their mechanical discipline, where applicable. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
